80 years of experience. One trusted practice.

About Verity Opticians

Having qualified in the early 1980s, Paul and Susan Verity first opened an independent Optometry practice in Shipley in 1991, quickly establishing their brand of high quality eyecare in that community.

A second practice in Otley soon followed, and then Ilkley practice opened in 2008. This is the practice they now fully concentrate on, using their 80 combined years of experience and knowledge. Verity Opticians is amongst the leaders in Yorkshire optometry.

Our approach to your care

Our small team all strive to provide the best experience from start to finish of your customer journey. We believe that your spectacles should always be dispensed, assembled and fitted by a Registered Dispensing Optician, your contact lenses fitted by an experienced Optometrist. In this way we achieve the best possible enhancement of your vision, your lifestyle and your personal image

Our aim is simple: to help you enjoy the best possible vision while protecting the long-term health of your eyes.

Independent eyecare in Ilkley

Being independent allows us to do things differently.

We believe eye care should never feel rushed. Every patient receives our full attention during their visit, allowing us to understand their vision, their lifestyle and any concerns they may have.

We combine our experience with modern technology, including advanced retinal imaging and OCT scanning, to ensure we can examine your eyes in detail and monitor their health over time.

This careful approach allows us to provide reassurance, early detection of potential problems and accurate prescriptions for your glasses or contact lenses.

A destination for premium eyewear

Over the years Verity Opticians has also become known as a destination practice for high quality eyewear.

Patients travel to Ilkley to explore our collections of premium frames and benefit from our expert dispensing. We believe that the right glasses should feel comfortable, look right for you and provide the clearest possible vision.

By combining carefully selected frames with advanced lens technology and precise measurements, we help our patients enjoy eyewear that works perfectly for their everyday lives.
