A personal approach to eyecare
At Verity Opticians, every patient is treated as an individual. Your eyes are unique and the care you receive should reflect that.
Our optometrists carry out the entire examination themselves in one comfortable consultation room. There is no conveyor belt process and no rushing through tests. This allows us to focus fully on you, your eyes and your visual needs.
By taking the time to understand your lifestyle, your vision and any concerns you may have, we can provide advice and solutions that are tailored to you.
Our aim is always the same: to give you the best possible vision and long-term eye care.

Expert eye care, every day
Advanced eye scans with OCT and Optomap
To provide the highest level of care, we offer advanced imaging using the Optos Monaco OCT and Optomap wide-field scanner.
These scans allow us to look deeper into your eyes and see far more than a standard examination alone.
Optomap imaging captures a detailed wide-field photograph of the retina, giving us a clear view of the back of your eye.
OCT scanning looks at the delicate layers of the retina in cross-section, helping us identify very early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
By combining both technologies, we can monitor your eye health with exceptional detail and accuracy.
Minor eye conditions service
If you experience a sudden problem with your eyes, you may be able to access the Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) at our practice.
This service allows patients to be seen quickly for symptoms such as:
- Sudden changes in vision
- Flashes or floaters
- Irritated or watery eyes
- Red or painful eyes
In many cases, you can receive care and advice without needing to visit your GP or hospital eye department.
If you have any concerns about your eyes, please contact us and we will guide you.
Dry eye care with Zocular Treatment
Dry eye symptoms can affect comfort, vision and everyday life.
At Verity Opticians we offer Zocular dry eye treatment, designed to improve the health of the eyelids and tear film.
Patients attend appointments every three months with the optometrist, where we carry out treatment and monitor progress. As part of the programme, you will also receive Eye Doctor products to support your eyes between visits.
The treatment runs on a simple monthly plan, allowing you to manage dry eye symptoms with ongoing professional care.
If you need glasses or contact lenses
If your examination shows that you need a prescription, we will guide you through the options available.
As a dispensing practice, we are known for our carefully chosen eyewear and high-quality lenses. Many of our patients travel to Ilkley to explore our collection of premium frames and personalised dispensing service.
